Day of Action volunteers clean up a Keewatin resident's yard

Day of Action | June 13 | Nashwauk, MN

United Way of Northeastern Minnesota has once again partnered with Itasca County Habitat for Humanity and Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA) to bring a Day of Action to a community in our shared service area.   

On Friday June 13, 2025, 170+ volunteers united to complete 35 community revitalization projects across Nashwauk. 

Residents have requested and/or nominated neighbors for help with a variety of volunteer-led projects, including:

 

  • Gardening
  • Landscaping
  • Tree/Shrub Trimming
  • Mowing/Raking


 

  • Garbage/Recycling
  • Vehicle Removal
  • Gutter Cleaning
  • Window Washing
  • Staining/Painting
  • House/Deck Repairs
  • Garage Maintenance
  • Accessibility Modifications

This is the second annual United Way of Northeastern Minnesota Day of Action in partnership with Itasca County Habitat for Humanity and Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA). In 2024 with the support of the City of Keewatin, U. S. Steel, and more than 100 local volunteers, we revitalized 16 homes, one small business, and five community spaces!
